About Jennifer

Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I am currently serving in the role of Assistant Principal at Berkman Elementary in Round Rock ISD. Previously I worked as a PK-6th Grade Math & Science Instructional Specialist in Bastrop ISD. I loved getting to visit teachers, spend time on their campuses and in their classrooms, and to be able to work on district curriculum for these grade levels and disciplines. It has been an honor to work with so many fine teachers, and my most recent experiences presenting at CAMT the past two years have connected me with so many more amazing educators!

As far as my educational experience go, I received my Bachelor's Degree from Texas State University in 2005. I immediately began working as a substitute teacher at the school I student taught at, and was hired as a first grade teacher for the following year. I went on to teach first grade for 3 years, and then moved into a testing grade. I moved to 4th grade and absolutely fell in love with it! I also started my Master's program through Concordia University, and 2 years later, obtained my Master's of Education in Educational Administration. After teaching 4th grade for 4 years, my path changed. I decided to leave the classroom (not an easy decision at all) and became a Math Instructional Coach at my campus. I was nervous and apprehensive at first, but once the year started, I was in love with the idea of helping teachers and growing them. This experience is what helped me land the job I have now in Bastrop. Each time I have moved into a new role, I have grown tremendously in my professional abilities and moved onward toward my future goals.

When I am not working, my favorite pastime is spending time with my family, especially my two babies. I have a 10 year old step-daughter and a 3 year old son, and they mean the absolute world to me. My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years now, but have known each other since we were 7 years old! We have a dog named Gunner, and enjoy spending time outdoors, at the beach, and with our families as well.
