Welcome! I'm Alison. I currently reside in the Fort Worth area where I've been the Mathematics Initiative Consultant for ESC Region 11 for the last year and a few months. I primarily provide professional development training, resources, and classroom support regarding K-8 Math to teachers within the 10 counties Region 11 serves. I not only work in the area of Math but also with STEAM/STEM, Teacher Preparation Program, TEKS Resource System, Instructional Coaching, and Instructional Rounds. ESCs are the go between from T.E.A. and school districts and charter schools so we closely with the state but not for the state! We are essentially teachers of teachers. I love presenting but truly enjoy visiting campuses and working directly with teachers and students. I miss the daily relationships we as teachers have with kids!
Before coming to ESC Region 11, I worked as a PK-6 Math & Science Curriculum & Instruction Specialist with Bastrop ISD for three years where I worked with Jennifer. We are all about helping teachers in a straightforward, easy to implement way which we hope attributes to success in their classrooms.
I'm originally from the greater Galveston area were I taught for 12 years in the school districts of Pasadena, Pearland, and Galena Park in grades 1-3 serving students like you have in your classroom. Students not necessarily from the best home life but doing the best they can with what they have but wanting to do more. Students with supportive parents who may not know how to help their kids because they did not have the best experiences in school. Students who have great dreams and aspirations to make the world a better place.
In my spare time (hmmm...what's that!?!?), I enjoy spending time with my beloved fur child, Hank, a rescue dog, my family and friends, Starbucks, running, great deals on just about anything but especially clothes, and traveling.
